On the one hand, “Film - Memory - Politics“ tries to combine socio-scientific methods for the reconstruction of collective memories with skills of contemporary documentary film; on the other hand, the project aims to initiate a discussion on media pictures by a contemporary political context.
The ongoing process of EU-enlargement is used as reference room, perceived as a redefinition process of mental borders. In this perspective, the project focuses on the former industrial city of Zlín (CZ) and on the social aspects framing its various transformations.
Leading questions of the project try to follow the rearrangement of historic narratives constructing a collective “European Modernity” as well as to reconstruct the redefinition of historical archives and mental borders. |
